THE RISE OF JAPAN SINCE, 1731!

In the year, 1725 an English sailor named, Bill Mercer made a tough decision that would bring the two worlds together. Mr Bill Mercer spent many years navigating trade routes of the East Indies. Eventually, he found himself at Nagasaki, Japan. This port city allowed only Chinese and Dutch people to conduct business. Mr Bill Mercer, disguised himself as Dutch. At one time, Bill met a group of young Samurai from different parts of Japan. The youngmen led by a future-orientated Daimyo, were discussing the future of their Country. The youngmen had foresight for more Western ships coming to Japan and Japan needed upgrade. Bill, was eloquent in Dutch and conversational in Japanese. One day, these youngmen invited, Bill to one of their secret meetings. As time went on, Bill became a trusted man. He told them stories of England's Universities, scientific achievements and how England is run.The youngmen were excited, especially of Institutions like, Cambridge and Oxford Universities which trained people in Philosophy, Sciences and Law. A couple Months later, it was decided that, a few men would accompany, Mr Bill Mercer to England to study governance, culture and technologies. This idea was very dangerous, if caught, the youngmen would face death penalty. No Japanese was allowed to exit the Country. Ten youngmen from 18 to 30 years old, skilled in martial arts, Japanese medicine and philosophy were chosen for the trip to England. They adopted Western names: Charlie, George, Bobby, Tom, Eddy, John, Francis and Jimmy. The youngmen pretended to be labourers on a Dutch ship with, Captain Bill Mercer as their guide. The voyage took 8 Months. Portsmouth, was the port of call. Captain Bill, took the men to London and introduced them to Scientists of the Royal Society and political leaders. The men studied, Medicine and Engineering at London. Philosophy and Governance was at Oxford.
